Early Intervention and Return to Work Support

Gowan Consulting is looking for experienced disability management professionals to join our team. Gowan Consulting is a leader in health and disability management. Responsibilities:

Provide overall case management of occupational and non-occupational sick leave and accommodation cases for an identified client group. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Contact with the employee, their health professionals, and/or their direct manager/HR to gather information and formulate recommendations on return to work strategies
  • Identify any barriers or limitations to return to work/stay at work and formulate strategies and recommendations to mitigate time away from work
  • Coach and supportHR Business Partners in management of individual employee absences
  • Maintain accurate, up to date files
  • Effectively collaborate with all stakeholders to facilitate the stay at work/return to work process
  • Confidently make recommendations on return to work and disability duration length

Provide subject matter expertise in the areas of health and safety and disability management, including but not limited to:

  • Educate clients on the STD, LTD and WCB claims management
  • Apply best practice assessment and intervention techniques when establishing return to work opportunities and address Duty to Accommodate issues
  • Provide recommendations for rehabilitation and return to work initiatives
  • Collaborate with team members on policy development, process review and disability management initiatives
  • Consistently maintain professional standards of practice and standards of ethics

Requirements:

  • Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to travel to the clients' work location(s)
  • Must have access to a home office and be able to support privacy legislation requirements
  • Must have excellent problem solving, organizational and decision making skills.
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English
  • Bilingual (French/English) is an asset
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage priorities
  • Efficiently manage your time according to employer standards and expectations

Qualifications:

  • Minimum three to five years' experience managing STD/LTD/WSIB disability claims and return to work coordination
  • Post-secondary Degree in a related discipline (i.e. Occupational Therapy, Disability Management, Kinesiology, Occupational Health and Safety or related health care designation) is considered an asset
  • Industry designation such as: Registered Rehabilitation Professional, Certified Rehabilitation Counsellor, Certified Return to Work Coordinator, CDMP, Registered Kinesiologist, CRSP, is considered an asset

Business Development Manager

Reports to: President

Based at: virtual location to be determined

Job purpose:

To plan and carry out direct marketing and sales activities, so as to maintain and develop sales of Gowan Consulting health and disability management product range to Canadian major accounts, in accordance with agreed business plans.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

  • Maintain and develop a computerised customer and prospect database.
  • Plan and carry out direct marketing activities (social marketing, face to face relationship development ) to agreed budgets, sales volumes, values, product mix and timescales.
  • Develop ideas and create offers for marketing to major accounts by main market sector and Gowan Consulting products.
  • Respond to and follow up sales enquiries by email/mail, telephone, and personal visits.
  • Maintain and develop existing and new customers through planned individual account support, and liaison with internal staff. Maintain and develop existing and new customers through appropriate propositions and ethical sales methods, and relevant internal liaison, to optimise quality of service, business growth, and customer and satisfaction.
  • Monitor and report on activities and provide relevant management information.
  • Carry out market research, competitor and customer surveys.
  • Maintain and report on equipment and software suitability for direct marketing and sales reporting purposes.
  • Liaise and attend meetings with other company functions necessary to perform duties and aid business and organisational development.
  • Communicate, liaise, and negotiate internally and externally using appropriate methods to facilitate the development of profitable business and sustainable relationships.
